Chucks & Acc
If your lathe is more than a 16″ swing, we recommend our Stronghold Chuck.
The following features are standard on our chucks:
- quality materials
- nickel plated body
- hardened base jaws
- manganese phosphate coated scroll
Key Features Include:
- Single-Hand Key Operation
- Our Patented Over-Extension Safety System (see below for more details)
- 4-Jaw Scroll Chuck
- Smooth-Glide Base Jaw Design
- 5 to 1 ratio assures powerful clamping
Safety
This wouldn’t classify as a ONEWAY chuck if it didn’t include our patented over extension prevention system for added safety. This prevents the base jaws from coming loose during operation.
Base Jaws
Utilising our revolutionary zigzag base jaw slide design, this base jaw design gives 50% more contact area which adds to the longer life and easier operation of the chuck.
Capacities
Capacities of the Talon chuck with standard #2 Jaws:
| Min | Max | |
| External (compression) | 1-5/8″ | 2-7/8″ |
| Internal (expansion) | 2″ | 3 ½” |
StrongHold Chuck ![]()
This heavy duty chuck is designed for large lathes (16″ swing or greater) to provide maximum gripping power!
The Stronghold Chuck is operated by a key. Key operation provides two major advantages:
- One handed operation
- Solid holding power
- 5 to 1 ratio assures powerful clamping
The body diameter of this chuck is 4½” (the largest currently available in our chuck family).
Note: If your lathe is less than a 16″ swing, we recommend our Talon Chuck.
The following features are standard on our chucks:
- quality materials
- nickel plated body
- hardened base jaws
- manganese phosphate coated scroll
Key Features Include:
- Single-Hand Key Operation
- Our Patented Over-Extension Safety System (see below for more details)
- 4-Jaw Scroll Chuck
- Rugged Base Jaw Design
Safety
This wouldn’t classify as a ONEWAY chuck if it didn’t include our patented over extension prevention system for added safety. This prevents the base jaws from coming loose during operation.
Accessory Jaws
A wide range of accessory jaws are available for this chuck to cover all your turning requirements.
The following Jaw sets are available for this chuck:
- Spigot Jaws - smaller turnings
- #3 and #4 Jaws - turning large bowls, vases etc
- Jumbo Jaws - finishing the bottom of bowls, or holding odd shaped peices
- Flat Jaws - make custom jaws and attach them to these plates

Weight
The chuck weighs approximately 8 lbs (fully assembled with the No. 2 Jaws). It is considerably heavier than the Talon Chuck (3.5 lbs) or Oneway Chuck (4.5 lbs) which makes it a very desirable chuck for large size lathe owners who want an exceptionally powerful grip for turning larger pieces.

Beall Collet Chuck System
![]()
Our new collet system, adapted from metal working technology, is designed to hold small parts safely and accurately in a lathe without marring. Its components are a machined steel Collet Chuck threaded to accept either a 33mm, 3/4-16, 1″-8, 1-1/4″-8 or 1-1/2″-8 lathe spindle*, a matching Spanner Set and precision ground Collets in five 1/8″ increments: 1/4″, 3/8″, 1/2″, 5/8″ and 3/4″. Individual collets have a range of .040 (forty thousandths,) or about 1/32″ and non-stock ones in both regular and metric sizes can be specially ordered. (Please call for details on this.) The collets hold so securely that wrenches are usually unnecessary, with hand tightening being sufficient for most applications. In addition to holding wood stock for turning, the system is useful for mounting assorted mandrels, small shop-made face plates, metal turning blanks and small jam chucks
