Our best-selling Gloss Finishing Wax is the perfect way to give your woodturning a showroom-quality finish. Formulated with carnauba and microcrystalline waxes, it creates a super-tough, glossy coating on your wood pieces that is resistant to fingerprints and food and toy safe when it’s cured. With its unique texture, this wax goes on thinner than you expect, which means you need less of it to get a great finish. And, it’s virtually odorless, so you can work in peace. Description

Our Gloss Finishing Wax is the toughest and most long-lasting finish available and is a popular go-to finish for many turners. Supplied in a 130g (4.4oz) lacquered lever lid tin.

Two Minute Tutorial

~ Basic Application

  1. Sand piece immaculately down to at least 400 grit;
  2. For best results, apply sanding sealer and burnish when dry;
  3. Evenly apply a light coat of the wax with a soft paper towel;
  4. Allow to dry a little and then buff. (Drying times vary, depending on ambient temperature and humidity;
  5. Apply additional coats for a deeper shine.

~ Uses

Use for the finishing of decorative and functional wood-turned items on a lathe. It can also be used on ‘flat’ woodwork using a polishing mop to buff. On finished items, avoid contact with water.

~ Color and Aroma

Creamy yellow in the tin. Characteristic aroma of solvents and waxes.

~ Container

They are supplied in a lacquer lined tin with 130g of product inside.

~ Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, ideally between 10° and 30°C (50° and 90°F) Where possible. Protect from extreme heat and freezing. Keep out of direct sunlight.

~ Longevity – Use By

Kept according to instructions, you can expect the product to last around two years from opening, depending on how often it is used.

~ Food Contact and Toy Safe?

Yes. Tested to EN71-3.
