Hampshire Sheen - Citrus Burnishing Oil - 500ml
Finish your creations in the luxurious sheen of our Citrus Burnishing Oil. This one-step, food-safe oil quickly and easily leaves a soft, satiny finish on your turned pieces, adding a beautiful depth to the natural colour of the wood. A few minutes of burnishing is all it takes to deliver a smooth, fresh-smelling finish — and when the aroma has faded, you’re ready to use your creation as a salad, fruit or snack bowl. Or add a couple more coats for an even more water, acid and oil-resistant finish. And if you wish, it can be overcoated with waxes or lacquers. Two Minute Tutorial
~ Basic Application
- Shake before use.

- Sand your work down. We recommend sanding to at least 400, 600 or a higher grit.

- Apply the oil using a paper towel and allow to penetrate the wood for a minute or two;

- Remove excess oil from surface;

- With the lathe spinning safely fast, use a paper towel to burnish the oil dry;

- Recoat as required.

- May be overcoated with wax or lacquer when properly cured.

- Use within 12 months of purchase for best results.

Ideal for use on items requiring a satin finish. Also suitable for fruit and salad bowls.~ Color and Aroma
Pale translucent brown in the bottle. It will not overly darken the wood surface when applied. It has the aroma of citrus fruits, which dissipates as the solvent dries. The piece is suitable for use when the aroma has completely gone.~ Container
Supplied in a 500ml ‘berg top’ tin bottle.~ Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, ideally between 10° and 30°C (50° and 90°F) Where possible. Protect from extreme heat and freezing. Keep out of direct sunlight.~ Longevity – Use By
Kept according to instructions, you can expect the product to last around 12 months from opening, depending on how often it is used. Left alone, it is very slow drying.~ Food Contact and Toy Safe?
Yes. Tested to EN71-3.SAFETY FIRST! Always read product labels, wear appropriate PPE and take steps to ensure the safety of your workshop environment and the people in it!

If Swallowed: Immediately call a POISON CENTRE/doctor. If on skin or hair, take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin and/or hair with water. Avoid release to the environment, Wear protective gloves, protective clothing, eye protection and face protection. Store in a well ventilated place. Keep cool. Lay saturated rags and towels flat and allow to dry before sensible disposal. Do not pile-up saturated rags.
