Our Danish Finishing Oil will make the figure in your wood ‘pop’ with just one coat and make any applied color almost glow. It can be brought to a gloss finish like other oils after many coats and buffing.
Two Minute Tutorial
~ Basic Application
- Sand your work down to your desired grit. We recommend 400 grit.
- Apply the oil using a paper towel or rag;
- After a few minutes, remove excess oil from the surface of the piece;
- Allow 20 minutes between coats and apply a maximum of 2 before allowing to cure;
- Leave to cure thoroughly for at least 24-48 hours before buffing and putting into use. Curing time will vary depending on ambient temperature and humidity;
- Recoat as required.
- For best results, use within 6 months of
purchase.
~ Uses
Use on fruit and salad bowls or items requiring a more satin finish. It can, however, be buffed to a gloss after many coats.
~ Color and Aroma
Translucent pale brown in the tin. It slightly darkens the wood when it is applied—characteristic aroma of solvents and waxes.
~ Container
Supplied in a 500ml ‘berg top’ tin bottle.
~ Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, ideally between 10° and 30°C (50° and 90°F) Where possible. Protect from extreme heat and freezing. Keep out of direct sunlight.
~ Longevity – Use By
Kept according to instructions, it is best used within six months after opening the product. Due to the curing nature of the product, it will thicken over time.
