This complete tapping kit is great for any of your projects that call for a 3/8″ x 16 tpi threading. The 5/16″ stub bit works best as that is the correct size to use for tapping a 3/8″ hole in common wood species. The 11/32″ stub bit is used in resin or acrylic or wood that is very hard to tap. With a little larger hole, the tap doesn’t need to cut in as deep to create threads. The stub bits work best as they eliminate wander if it hits a tight grain in the wood; the longer wood bits will get knocked off center and you will be drilling a crooked hole. The T-handle just makes taping so much more simple.
