Economy - XL Tanto Damascus Blank

This large size Tanto has both bottom edges sharpened. These knives are sharpened from the manufacturer but we do recommend a final sharpening once completed. These carbon steel Damascus blanks take and hold an unbelievable edge. We are having these blanks built for us and as such we warranty them from delamination or breakage for 2 years. We do not warranty against abuse such as using them as a pry bar or pounding on them. We do not warranty against tip breakage,  If you have never owned a Damascus blade here is your chance to own one at a reasonable price and you will not be disappointed. 

These blanks are full length Damascus (Not the cheap etched blades that many people are passing off as genuine Damascus blades. These blades have a 1095 high carbon & 1520 Stainless Steel with a high nickel content to highlight the patterns. There are approx. 250 layers due to folding of the steels. These blanks will sharpen and hold an edge like mad. We recommend washing and drying after use and then placing a couple of drops of oil to prevent rusting (Food Safe Oil recommended). The Nickle makes for a high contrast between layers. You can bring out the contrast in areas that were not dipped (Gray areas - end of handle) with a mild acid mixture or by leaving it sit in a coke for 3-4 hours. Be sure to neutralize the acid, clean and oil before using.
