Edinam - 4/4, 6/4 & 8/4
Edinam, also called Tiama is a subspecies of African Mahogany and is harvested in western tropical Africa. It is red brown, sometimes with pale pink hues with distinctive ribbon-like striping. It has a keen resemblance to African Mahogany and Sapele, but at a fraction of the cost.
Edinam is easy to work, moderately durable, and moderately resistant to rot and insect attacks. It finishes well and the ribbon striping pops even more when sealed as shown in the pictures below.
Edinam is commonly used for veneers, furniture, stairs, and joinery.
