This Japanese Style Nakiri Knife offers one of the best cutlery steels (440 C Stainless Steel ) on the market at an extremely competitive price. This knife should last you decades.
This knife is designed for cutting fruits and vegetables with a Push/Pull Cut due to its flat cutting edge unlike a Chef Knife whose convex blade is designed to be used with a rocking motion. It is not a cleaver as it doesn't have the weight nor the blade angle to cut through bones. This knife is sharpened from both sides (a double bevel) unlike the Usuba that is sharpened from only one side. The Usuba is also designed for cutting Veggies.
The Octagon Handle features both African Blackwood and Olivewood. In my opinion these two woods make and amazingly ergonomic and aesthetically pleasing handle.
The satin stainless steel blades have a rustic black finish at the top to help set off their amazing lines. Each knife comes razor sharp and ready to use.
